Epstein notes about Bill Gates renew questions about Microsoft founder
The statement from Gates’ spokesperson called the claims “completely absurd.”
“The only thing these documents demonstrate is Epstein’s frustration that he did not have an ongoing relationship with Gates and the lengths he would go to entrap and defame,” the statement from Gates’ spokesperson said.
The ages of the “girls” were not mentioned.
The messages were sent not long after Epstein attempted to broker a venture between the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and JPMorgan Chase, according to The New York Times.
Epstein, who was convicted of child prostitution-related offenses in 2008, died in 2019 while awaiting trial on additional sex-trafficking and rape allegations.
Gates comes up in the Epstein files hundreds of times. In a 2021 interview, he said his relationship with Epstein was a “huge mistake.”
Melinda French Gates talked about her ex-husband’s ties with Epstein in a 2022 prerecorded interview with “CBS Mornings” anchor Gayle King. She described Epstein as “abhorrent” and “evil personified” and said she made her feelings clear to Gates.
French Gates and Gates divorced in 2021.
Documents from lawsuits filed by Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre showed connections between Epstein and former Microsoft Chief Technology Officer Nathan Myhrvold.
Gates’ ties to Epstein were revealed by The New York Times in 2019. The number of powerful and wealthy individuals connected to Epstein has ballooned in the past year after the Epstein Files Transparency Act passed, compelling the DOJ to release millions of documents and images.
